Who we are

Rif Research is the trading name of Afi Ghazouani, a clinical trials consultancy based in England, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Afi Ghazouani is the data controller of the personal data described in this notice. Contact: contact@rifresearch.com.

What personal data we collect

When you contact us by email or through this website, we collect the information you choose to provide: typically your name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number and the content of your message. When you visit this website, our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, for security and operational purposes.

Why we use your data and our lawful basis

We use your personal data to respond to your enquiry and discuss how we may work together, on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating and developing our business. Where we enter into an engagement, we process your data to perform that contract. We may also process personal data to comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We will only send you marketing communications with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data that does not lead to an engagement is retained for 12 months and then deleted. Records relating to an engagement are retained for six years after it ends, to meet contractual, tax and professional obligations, and then deleted.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including our email and productivity provider and our website hosting provider, each bound by contractual data protection obligations. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, transfers are protected by adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement and equivalent safeguards.

Enquiries sent through this website are delivered to us by our email delivery provider, Resend (established in the United States, so outside the UK). A copy of each enquiry is preserved in the server logs of our website hosting provider, Lovable, whose infrastructure also operates outside the UK, so that enquiries remain recoverable if a notification email fails.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls and multi-factor authentication on our systems.

Checklist and resource requests

When you request a resource on our website, we use your name, email address, organisation and any optional details you give (such as trial phase or planned countries) to send it to you and respond to your request, including any call you ask for. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to requests for our resources. We keep request details for 12 months and then delete them, unless we go on to work together.

Updates by email

If you tick the box to receive updates, we will email you occasional updates on clinical trial regulation and our services on the basis of your consent. We keep your name, email address and a record of your consent while you are subscribed. You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to any update or emailing contact@rifresearch.com. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date on a do-not-email list so that we don’t contact you again.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any right, email contact@rifresearch.com. You can complain to us about how we use your personal data by emailing contact@rifresearch.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
